The National Science Foundation Tennessee Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (TLSAMP) Bridge to the Doctorate (BD) program at Tennessee State University (TSU) provides students with professional development, research training, and mentoring to prepare them for doctoral studies. The BD award supports graduate students who are pursuing master’s degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs at TSU.
NSF BD Fellowship Benefits:
• $32,000 stipend per year during the two years of the program
• Up to $12,000 cost-of-education allowance for tuition, fees, travel, etc. each year
• BD Fellows workshops and STEM Professional Development
• Up to three years assistantship support after the two years of the BD Fellowship program (pending enrollment and good standing)
Eligibility Criteria:
• Minimum Undergraduate GPA of 3.0
• Admission to a TSU M.S. program in a STEM discipline
• Evidence of participation in LSAMP program as an undergraduate and have a Baccalaureate degree in a STEM discipline
• Committed to pursuing a Ph.D. degree in a STEM field
