Postdoc opportunity for URM at UCSD

 

The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of San Diego announces a Diversity Postdoctoral Fellowship. We seek to support scholars from the Humanities, Arts, Sciences, Mathematics and/or Social Sciences who are committed to advancing the perspectives of African Americans, American Indian/Alaskan Natives and Filipino Americans through their creative activity, teaching, service or mentoring of students.  The postdoctoral scholar will begin in fall 2016 and will be housed in one or more of the following academic programs:

  •  Biology
  •  Chemistry and Biochemistry
  • History
  • Philosophy
  • Psychological Sciences

The Diversity Postdoctoral scholar position is for one year with with the posibility of a one-year renewal.  Postdoctoral scholars typically teach three courses per year, and work closely with faculty mentors inside and outside of their disciplines.

Candidates must have completed their PhD or other terminal degree no more than three years before the starting date (August 2016). Candidates who have not yet had a tenure-track faculty position will have priority. Awards include a competitive salary, benefits package, and travel funds for conference participation.
